Business Development in L.A. Area
In A Nutshell
Building btrax brand awareness, generating project leads, identifying and negotiating referral and other partnerships. For qualified candidate, potential for flexible work arrangement rather than full-time position (attending grad school, have own consulting business, children, etc.).
Your responsibilies
- Research and participate in both social and business events to create lead network
- Use your existing contacts to generate brand interest and increase lead capacity
- Oversee existing client relationships for ongoing support, upselling and other future revenue opportunities
- Emphasis on natural networking rather than cold-calling
- Research and analyze potential competitors
- Identify and contact potential referral partner
- Identify one or more contact persons for all relevant organizations with referral potential and setup visits
- Update btrax's online database of contacts and deals with your activities
- Create new services in collaboration with other btrax staff to attract Japanese clients interested in US/China markets
- Participate in potential and current client meetings
- Develop media contacts and pitch ideas that benefit btrax's brand awareness
- Write occasional blog postings and tweets to appeal to target lead audience
- Track and share documents detailing client project successes
- Plan multiple meeting day trips to other cities
We need
- MBA degree or BA/BS degree with business experience
- Recent grads looking for long-term growth opportunities are highly desired
- Highly skilled communicator with polished people skills
- Ability to work independently with proven initiative
- Strong interest in cross-cultural business and ability to speak more than one language
- Ability to quickly understand how btrax's services can be applied to meet clients business objectives
- Detailed oriented and experience managing multiple leads to successful contract stage
- Excellent verbal skills and engaging writing style (for writing proposals, emails, etc.)
- We do NOT require specific web industry experience
Bonus skills
- Experience in developing e-commerce sites
- Experience in developing rental sites
Everything else
- Approximately 50-60% of time should be outside the office at events or meetings
- Remaining time spent on the job involves use of a computer
- Punctual and consistent attendance is required
- Willingness and ability to work non-standard business hours, such as nights, on an as-needed basis
- Team members must be able to effectively handle multiple projects on deadline
- Flexible environment - working remotely is possible on a per project basis
- Position has the potential to evolve as office develops and according to candidate's career goals
- 1-2 month training (possibly in San Francisco) and 3-month evaluation period
- Compensation is base salary and commission with bonus accelerators
