Client challenges
After making the leap across the Pacific to open their first store in San Francisco, HIDEO WAKAMATSU knew it was time for a change. The modern carrying bag and accessories company started in Tokyo needed to grow their sales, but were hampered by dated website content and an aesthetic that no longer matched their product line.
The U.S. reseller wanted to build a highly visible web presence that synced with their chic store in San Francisco, while adding the ability to do online inventory updates. An inviting, high-end user interface was essential for introducing American audiences to the brand and ensuring they remembered the HIDEO WAKAMATSU name after leaving the website.
btrax solutions
- Higher brand recognition: In order to create a focused brand identity that best communicated HIDEO WAKAMATSU's upscale products, the btrax design team focused on ultra-clean layouts and consistent graphic elements across the whole site.
- In-house updating: btrax built solid administrative pages which enabled the staff to track and handle orders, sales and inventory. The system also gave them tools to easily edit shipping fees and create new promotional coupons for niche customers.
- Smoother user interaction: btrax re-categorized products by sizes and usage, rather than collection names, to help customers navigate quicker to the items and reduce time to the point of sale.
Quantifiable results
Collobrating with btrax, HIDEO WAKAMATSU USA was able to realize its vision of a global store with substantially increased traffic and higher sales which provided a healthy return on their investment. In addition, the Japanese parent company’s staff was impressed by the USA site’s performance and chose btrax to sync the HIDEO WAKAMATSU brand worldwide.
Client quote
"We are very happy with having chosen btrax to renew and develop our website. btrax's knowledge of Japanese cultural, language and aesthetic sensibilities made this possible where it would have been almost unimaginable with another developer."
