case studies
While all of btrax’s clients achieve success from their web development projects, here are a few exemplary cases:
case study 01: HIDEO WAKAMATSU TOKYO
Synchronizing e-commerce and Brand Recognition
Challenges
HIDEO WAKAMATSU USA, a modern carrying bag and accessories company that started in Tokyo and later ventured out to San Francisco for their first store outside of Japan, knew it was time for a change. The higher-end nature of their products and inaccurate website information, coupled with an aesthetic unbefitting to their product line, they weren't getting as many orders. Another concern was that not enough people knew about the brand to visit the website. The client wanted a new website that gave them the ability to do in-house inventory updates and also able to offer a unique brand identity in order to increase the number of customers within US market who recognize the brand by visiting the website.
The client's objective for their new website was for it to be easily navigable as well as inviting and unique so that customers recognize and remember after they visit the website.
Solution
Project Theme: Improving functionality and brand identity
The client's request was to give a modern and positive image of the brand on the website as well as improving the functionality of both parties (in-house and the customer) ultimately resulting in increased sales. btrax has achieved:
- In-house management: btrax was able to create a management page to the website which enabled the client to manage orders, sales and inventory as well as editing shipping fees and creating new promotional coupons on the website.
- Brand recognition: In order to create a website that captured the brand identity in order for the customers to recognize the brand at first site, btrax focused on consistent design throughout the website that translated the brand image and to enhance the higher-end image of the brand.
- Functionality: btrax categorized the products by sizes and function rather than collection names, which help customers to navigate the web easily and make purchases freely.
btrax was able to meld all these components into one, achieving the goal of utilizing e-commerce to its fullest while offering a unique brand identity.
Effects: Looking to the future
With assistance provided by btrax, HIDEO WAKAMATSU USA will be able to obtain its goal of a global marketplace, and are now considering using btrax's services to redevelop the original HIDEO WAKAMATSU website in Japan so that it maintains the level of quality and consistency of their US website.
"We are very happy with having chosen btrax to renew and develop our website," said the client, Alan Anderson. "btrax's knowledge of Japanese cultural, language and aesthetic sensibilities made this possible where it would have been almost unimaginable with another developer. "
